Twitter took the bigger step to remove all the spammers from its platform, as it is cutting the number of the user (400 to 1000 users) to follow per day. This measure will decrease the “follow” list of all the spammers that created a violation of Twitter rules.
Many spam news has been plaguing social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. As elections are approached in our county, thus it becomes more important to highlight all the fake news. Nearly Facebook is removing 3 million accounts per day and Twitter is doing the same.
Twitter is removing almost 5 million to 6.5 million accounts per week to fight "Platform Manipulation", said by Yoel Roth, Twitter head of integrity sites.
Seven to 10 millions twitter accounts are challenged automatically per week and almost three-quarters of Twitter accounts are removed automatically from its service. Nowadays Algorithm manipulation is attacking Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. “If Twitter wants to know, whether an account is spam, they just set a tough challenge with resetting a password, verifying a phone number and solving a reCAPTCHA”- As per a recent report by Fast Company.
According to TechCrunch Report, “Twitter is also limiting the number of its account”. These spam dealer crackdowns and new limits are not the only changes which Twitter has taken from past few months to tackle all the spam problems. Twitter also updated its reporting tools that introduced diverse security measures for Twitter and its users.
This Short Term impact of security measures could be a reason an of the drop in Twitter User Growth, But it will be long term health measure for Twitter!
